And a very happy summer to all of you, including a preemptive Happy July 4th - we hope you have a fun holiday with your loved ones!
If you’re thinking about coming into the city, there’s a host of great summer activities beyond the holiday weekend. Things do slow down a little in July and August, there are less tourists around, but it’s really a great time to be here. You can get tables at your favorite restaurants, and they’re likely running really great set menu deals all summer long - pair it with the week of Tales of the Cocktail and you’ve got a perfect foodie getaway. Our museums and galleries all shine during the summer. As well as being cool places to escape the heat, they’re less crowded and also have summer promotions and special exhibits that are well worth checking out. Summer theatre options include MacBeth and Tennessee Williams’ The Rose Tattoo, both productions of classic  plays and also in cool, dark rooms!  The football (pre)season also kicks off next month - book those Sundays in the city now to follow our Saints! A free event that promises a delightful celebration of the 4th of July, and pays tribute to America's independence. This family-friendly event offers a wide variety of attractions throughout the day.

Macbeth @ Lupin Theatre at Tulane

Enjoy a week-long celebration of cocktails and mixology! This global cocktail conference aims to educate, advance, and support cocktail professionals and enthusiasts alike.

The Rose Tattoo @ Marquette Theatre

Bocuse d’Or and Pastry World Cup
Founded in 1987 by legendary Chef Paul Bocuse, the Bocuse d’Or has become the most prestigious culinary competition in the world, while the Pastry World Cup, created in 1989 by Gabriel Paillasson, is regarded as the ultimate benchmark in pastry arts. White Linen Night
Experience an unforgettable evening where guests don their finest white linen attire and take to the streets to explore the thriving art scene of New Orleans. On the first Saturday of every August, Julia Street transforms into a hub of artistic energy, hosting a multitude of galleries, live music performances, food and  drink, and captivating art installations.

Satchmo SummerFest
Satchmo SummerFest began as a tribute to one of New Orleans’ most famous native sons, the late Louis “Satchmo” Armstrong, to celebrate his 100th birthday. Thousands of people now turn out every year to dance to traditional New Orleans blues and jazz, and to sample the delicious food.

Dirty Linen Night
Dirty Linen Night offers a unique twist on White Linen Night. Organized by the Royal Street Arts District, this edition of the event aims to infuse passion and music into the world of art. Galleries along Royal Street open their doors, offering exhibits for attendees to explore while live musicians fill the streets, creating an enchanting atmosphere to enhance the vibe.

Red Dress Run
A charity “run” in New Orleans, Red Dress Run is hosted by the New Orleans Hash House Harriers. This local drinking club hosts the world’s most unique running event. All locals and visitors attend this annual event dressed in red attire - specifically, dresses. The event involves a two-mile run beginning at Crescent Park in the Bywater.
