Chez Palmiers
Bed and Breakfast
What
Our Guests Say

Before starting our bed and breakfast,
we talked with other b&b owners about their experiences. All of them have horror
stories to tell. We know it's bound to happen eventually, but we have been very
fortunate to have had many wonderful guest experiences so far in this adventure.
We'd like to share some of what they've had to say about their time at Chez
Palmiers and in New Orleans.

We loved Chez Palmiers B&B. We had the loft suite, two
rooms upstairs. Perfectly suited out needs for our 10 day stay. Quiet and the
location near all the nightlife, eateries and Jazz Clubs along Frenchmen
Street, just 4-5 blocks away was just what we needed. David is a delightful
host and makes you feel right at home. He has a precious gift for gab which we
indulged completely, and his profession as an architect heightened our
enjoyment of N'Orleans buildings and our host Creole cottage. He gave us tons
of tips as to places to visit, appropriate eateries, etc. In fact his handout
about nearly delights was almost always with us. Norway, ME

“When you want funky & fun and not fussy stay at Chez Pamiers.”
New Orleans is a city that offers a bit of everything and we have experienced
high end hotels and small B&Bs. This trip was with our adult children and Chez
Palmiers was perfect for us. Hosts, Schuyler and David have a restored cajun
cottage appointed with an eclectic mix of memorabilia that allows you to get to
know them from their travels and interests. They are gracious and warm and you
at once feel like you are visiting friends in their home. Breakfast was offered
in the dining room with a lovely assortment of fresh fruit, juices, yogurt,
cheese, breads, coffee, and daily paper. Both breakfast and cocktails were
enjoyed sitting on the deck by the pool sharing conversation and gaining
valuable local information. The three guest rooms were ideal for our family.
The city has to be experienced on foot and the house is located between the
French Quarter and the Faubourg Marginy, an area often overlooked and not to be
missed. Walk and/or use the Taxis as there is not good parking and traffic is
always congested. To sum it up, our 26 year old son said, "I'm sad to leave. I
love this place."
Now is the time to visit New Orleans. The citizens have worked hard to put the
city back in order and have done it with success and pride.

Dear David and Schuyler,
Jano and I wanted to say thanks again for such a nice time staying at your B&B.
We were very impressed with the whole experience, from the
well thought out list of local businesses to your regular availability in person
and by cell phone to help us with the details of our stay. We really had an
excellent time and that was in large part due to knowing that we had such a
lovely "home" while there.
David, hope you're fully recovered and back to normal after your surgery!
We hope to see you both next time we're there.
All the Best,
Roddy + Jano - New York

Hi Schuyler and David.
Thank you for a wonderful stay in New Orleans. We really enjoyed the unique
and fantastic atmosphere of the city, the laid back attitude of the people we
met, and the beautiful weather ( almost every day ). Not to mention JAZZ! We all
agree that New Orleans is something really special and we sure hope to be back
again some day. And the natural choice of place to stay will definitely be with
you guys, since we couldn’t help falling in love with your little cozy Bed and
Breaky. We enjoyed your great hospitality but do feel the need to apologize
about the huge amounts of cereal we ended up consuming. …..”what can we say, we
used to be vikings”.
Hope you are both doing well and hope to see you again some day in the
future.

This place is not only great, your hosts David and Schuyler are wonderful.
One does not need to be told that this is their home, you can feel that. I
recently visited NOLA for Jazz Fest 08. We were comfortable from the start. One
of the woman that I was traveling with ended up quite ill. David provided all
the information for her to seek medical help. This place is tops. Great coffee
and better yet two new friends. Hats off. Thanks - Barbara, Mansfield,Pa

We had a wonderful time during a long weekend stay. The
location is great, in a residential area in between the French Quarter &
Frenchman St. It's a good place to mix with locals. Be sure & try Buffa's &
Checkpoint Charlies in the Frenchman area., Everything is within easy walking
distance. We stayed in the Grande Suite which is lovely & very comfortable. The
relaxing pool area is a great place to chill out. Schuyler & David are excellent
hosts, very helpful & fun to visit with. They also do a very nice breakfast set
up. We can't wait to stay again.

Just returned from a business trip to New Orleans and a
stay at the lovely Chez Palmiers Bed and Breakfast. The B&B was one of the most
welcoming accomodations I have ever stayed at and the conditions were extremely
comfortable , clean and nicely decorated. The Loft Suite was exactly as described
on the B&B website. While the location is a little distance form the centre
(that is why I gave this a 4 and not a five star rating) for myself, this was
actually a plus rather than a minus. The neighbourhood was very quiet ,in stark
contrast to downtown and was therefore pleasant and relaxing....and guaranteed a
good night of sleep. I look forward to staying at Chez Palmiers again, this time
with my hubby. Thank you, David and Schuyler and hope that Wampus your cat is
feeling better!

We stayed for a week at this B&B. Service was great.
Fantastic breakfasts. Nice accomodations, but the two men who own and run the
B&B are what made it great. They were helpful, friendly, knowledgable,
interesting and gracious. They made you feel like part of the family. Location
was the best...quiet, safe, but close to the action in the Marigny - which is
THE place for music and food. On a bus line which was easy to navigate, but
close enough to walk to the French Quarter. They were full of ideas for us and
very helpful about things to see and do. San Diego, CA

We just returned from a 5 night stay at Chez Palmiers
and couldn't have been more pleased. It was close to many attractions, but far
enough from the Quarter to get peace and quiet when needed. The rooms were very
comfortable and nicely decorated and the pool was an added plus. Schuyler & Dave
were perfect hosts. We can't wait to go back! SHARON, NEW CASTLE, DE

Two friends and I stayed in Schuyler and David's
wonderful b & b over our spring break, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Our
hosts were wonderfully attentive and helpful - they even provided us with a
detailed list of dining recommendations that we consulted for the majority of
our trip. My friends and I came without a set itinerary, and Schuyler and David
went above and beyond to suggest things we could do and see, tailored
specifically to our interests. The room was sizeable, filled with interesting
trinkets and lovely books, and everything was just spotless. The room even came
with a microwave and a mini fridge, which was a surprise. The entire b & b is
very quiet, relaxing and charming, with a lovely pool in the back and a seating
area. The b & b itself was very well-located and just a stone's throw away from
the French Quarter. Breakfast always came with interesting breads and all kinds
of spreads, fresh coffee, milk, juice, yoghurt ... just a wonderful spread to
wake up too. All in all, one of the best experiences I've had in a b & b. You
really feel at home here, and its a fantastic way to see New Orleans.

We all know that B&B's go by different rules than your
average corporate hotel/motel which is why we prefer staying at them. We
inadvertently broke one of these rules showing up as we had just driven 12 hours
from Charlotte and arrived much later than expected at midnight. Luckily, our
friends were also staying here and they let us in. Otherwise we would have had
to ring the doorbell and wake the whole place up, including Schuyler & David,
the innkeepers who had to work the next day. We were so tired, and so beat from
that drive, we just wanted to go to bed when we arrived. We stayed in the
Blah-Blah room and there was nothing blah-blah about it. It was hands down the
most comfortable bed we have ever slept in. We turned on the A/C and passed out.
We woke up the next morning and after showering in the immaculately clean shower
and bathroom, stumbled in and felt right at home in the kitchen where fresh
coffee, bagels, David's homemade granola and friendly other guests were gathered
around the table beginning their day. We took off to explore the city after
breakfast - everything is in easy walking distance. I could not get over how
clean the entire place was. And quiet. It felt like home. We didn't get to
actually meet David and Schuyler until two days in as our schedules conflicted,
but we had a great brief conversation with them while sitting by the pool before
dinner one evening. They are so helpful, handing out recommendations for dining,
shopping and whatever it is you want to do. David even printed us out some
directions to Jacques Imo with a map. The pool was a really nice touch and I
imagine an oasis on a very hot day. The decor was authentic New Orleans mixed in
with some great antiques. I would recommend Chez Palmiers any day.

The Chez Palmiers is WONDEFUL! Not only is it a fabulous
location (Port of Call is basically across the street, the market and Cafe du
Monde about a 5 minute walk), David andSchuyler are the best hosts you could ask
for. They really were like staying with friends you had known forever. My
friends and I would get up early just to hang out and have coffee and
converstion with them. Whether you are new to the city or it's an old favorite,
like it was for us, I defiinately recommend these guys! The house is beautiful,
the beds are oh so comfy, and it's just a great way to experience NO. I can't
wait to stay with them again!! They will always be my first choice for my trips
to the Quarter. Thanks again guys!!! YOU WERE GREAT!

We stayed an entire week at Chez Palmiers. The house is
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL and you couldn't ask for better hosts than David and
Schuyler. They go out of their way to make your stay in New Orleans a very
memorable one!! Hope to stay again in the future. Donna, Lafayette, LA
